USA Leaders' Retreat:
We had a wonderful experience at the Oak Brook Hills Hilton resort in Chicago. Not only were we blessed to have Michael Goheen, but also to have the opportunity to fellowship, dialogue, and open up some of the pertinent issues that we need to address in terms of our expression of ministry here in the United States The theme of our time was very challenging in terms of the mission of the church and how we ought to engage in playing our part as churches and ministries working into the world. Michael W. Goheen (PhD, Utrecht) is theological director and scholar-in-residence at the Missional Training Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Mike took 3 sessions: The Missional Vocation of God’s People in the Midst of the World; the Missional Church and a Missionary Encounter with Culture and; Missional Church, Theological Education, and Discipleship. Also, John Leitzel covered the subject of the value of women In Lifelink, Josh Mitchell covered church on mission and Alan Scotland covered the Kingdom of God expression. You can view all of the sessions by clicking HERE: It’s so wonderful for us to see how many more people attended. We hope and pray that those who could not make it, would make the space to come and join us next year because it is something not to miss. This retreat is an investment in relationships and hearing God’s voice to us from different speakers. We give a huge “thank you” for the work Karyn Coward did administratively to make this retreat a success! It is always more work than anyone realizes. She has such a serving heart and we are deeply grateful.
